It all began when ‘Swinella’ authoress Gloria Sync did a photoshoot to promote her (now defunct) clothing label, Satanal. A few of Gloria’s products had a pig theme, so what better idea for promotion than dressing up as a pig? Gloria donned a prosthetic nose and pink wig, and the photographs were taken. After the shoot Gloria found herself wondering just who this pig was. What was her name? Where did she live? What did she do? Well, her name was Swinella and she lived in Hamden Town (where else?). She liked punk rock and clothes and getting fucked up the bottom.

But why was our Swinella a pig in the first place? The answer to that question grew into ‘Swinella’. The first of the Hamden Town novels.
